About the Artist
Although born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Glenn was raised in a little fishing village in France, Le Verdon-Sur-Mer. He only spent the first four years of his life in the US; then his parents separated and Glenn moved with his mom and brother to France. It wasn’t until 25 years later that Glenn came back to the US on vacation. He liked it so much here in Florida that he decided to stay permanently.
Glenn is a trained chef and has worked at various restaurants in France and around Tampa. Although he likes to cook for people, he decided to try a change of pace and work for his cousin, a stone carver, who was also living in Tampa. His cousin was trained in France to work on repairs to the great cathedrals of France such as Chartres or the well known Notre Dame of Paris. It was from that experience that he discovered his talent for working in cement and casting his ideas into garden ornaments and fountains.
Glenn found that people really liked his work and first tried selling his pieces at the Ybor City Fresh Market. That success prompted Glenn to try some other art festivals around Florida. He has shown his work all over from Jacksonville to Del Rey beach and the Tampa area. He has even won a few awards.
Right now Glenn works full time on his stone and mosaic artwork. He can be found twice monthly at the Saturday Morning Market in downtown St Petersburg. Or just give him a call and he will invite you to his home in South Tampa where he has his workshop. For dates that he is available at The Saturday Morning Market or other venues, consult the calendar on this web site.
